Located at WindRose Golf Club in Spring, Tx, Eclipse Golf Academy has become the fastest-growing golf academy in the Northwest Houston areas with one of the largest junior programs in the country.
The practice facilities at WindRose Golf Club are second to none featuring a 15,000 square foot putting green, a 40 station tee line and short game complex capable of teaching large groups of students.
Two of our bays feature the most up to date technology in video analysis software, launch monitors, balance mats and 3D imaging tools. The third bay is primarily used for lessons and club fitting.

Since officially starting his teaching career at the famed Hank Haney Golf Ranch in Dallas, TX in 2016, Shelby Thibodeaux has already started making a name for himself. After getting his Associates Degree from the Golf Academy of America, he moved to Houston, TX to pursue his passion for teaching in one of the most prosperous golf communities in the country.
Always wanting to learn and grow, Shelby has learned from some of the greatest (names) in the game such as Butch Harmon, Mike McGetrick, Marius Filmater, Hank Haney, Steve Johnson, Steve Bowman, Matt Swanson, Jim Phenicie, and Chris Mayson to name a few. He is currently the Director of Junior Golf at WindRose Golf Club. Since joining the club in fall 2018, Shelby created a junior program that grew from zero to 50(+) juniors in less than one year.
The Academy now has over 300 students. In addition, he has grown the PGA Junior League Program from one to six teams, increased summer camp enrollment from six to 24 juniors/camp, taught 3,000+ lessons and was named a 2019, 2021 & 2022 Top 50 US Kids Golf Coach. In 2022 he was awarded the USKG Master’s Coach Award. Specializing in developing juniors, he teaches all ages and skill levels.
PGA Head Professional
Garrett has over six years of teaching experience. He has been involved in the golf industry for most of his life and has a strong passion for the game. He believes each person has a unique swing and the key to a successful lesson is introducing improved fundamentals and mechanics to that swing. Garrett specializes in developing the swings of juniors as well as short game mechanics, and believes it’s never too early or late to improve your golf game.
Garrett’s professional accomplishments include graduating from the PGA Golf Management School at Sam Houston State University in 2013. In 2016 he was named Head Golf Professional at WindRose Golf Club making him the youngest member of his graduating class to earn the title. Garrett is also the head golf coach of the 2017 state champion Frassati Catholic High School. He is a “Class A” PGA Professional and a Certified Teaching Professional. Garrett is a certified club fitter for Ping and Callaway as well as a Callaway products expert. He brings energy and enthusiasm to each lesson and looks to create a positive judgment-free environment for his students to learn and grow their game.
Kameryn’s love for golf all started when she was 10 years old. She remembers watching her dad play and couldn’t wait to get started with her own career. She credits her father, a long time member of WindRose, with being her inspiration in picking up the game. Kameryn has called WindRose Golf Club her home course her entire career and believes it is the perfect place for junior golfers to learn a game they can play with their friends and family forever.
Kameryn’s brings enthusiasm and energy to every class. She believes the keys for a junior golfer to grow are a positive fun environment with a heavy focus on fundamentals. She makes it her goal every class to help juniors both understand golf and find enjoyment in it.
Kameryn is a three year varsity team letter at Klein Oak High School. Her team has made it to Regionals every year and her scores continue to drop. Kameryn is always striving to be better at the game, and works hard at everything she does. Kameryn has completed the Eclipse Golf Academy training program.
Meadow’s passion for the game came early as a kid, as she played golf all the time. She would compete in Junior STPGA tournaments and different competitions all over the city. Meadow started off as a student participating in a summer camp with Shelby and Garrett and then transitioned into private lessons with Shelby. She is currently a varsity player on Klein Collins Golf Team. When she got offered a job to help teach kids, it gave her the opportunity to help kids see what she couldn’t see as a kid. Meadow plans to attend college as she is also working on a golf scholarship. Meadow has completed the Eclipse Golf Academy training program.
